Common Questions About Ranch Monitoring
What do these devices actually do?
GPS ear tags report where your cattle are a few times a day. Water tank monitors report the level in every tank and alert you before one runs dry. Fence monitors watch electric fence voltage. Everything lands in one app on your phone or computer, with alerts when something needs you.
Do I need WiFi or cellular service?
No WiFi required at your ranch. Our devices have built-in cellular (4G LTE) or satellite connectivity. You only need internet on your phone or computer to view the data through our app or web portal.
How long do the batteries last?
The GPS ear tags are solar powered — there is nothing to charge or replace. The water tank and fence monitors run on 2 standard D-cell batteries you replace yourself, typically every 3 or more years.
Is installation difficult?
Minutes per device, with tools you already own. GPS tags go in with a standard ear tag applicator. Water monitors are a weighted sensor you drop in the tank and a small module you mount on the tank or a post. Fence monitors clip onto the fence wire.
